“Sometimes people need more support than just one person can give.”
In Heartstopper Volume Four, Charlie and Nick confess their love to each other. Charlie is dealing with his eating disorder and tells his parents about that. Nick stands by his side. When Charlie's condition gets worse, he decides to stay at a psychiatrist center. He goes away for four months. Nick and Charlie struggle through the time and handle their relationship. Lucky for them, their friends and family support them in this fight. Charlie gets better by joining therapy. Life starts to get normal and better when Charlie comes back home. Although he goes through a tough time and has his share of break down, Nick stays by his side strong. New Year arrives, and Nick decides to come out to his father and tell him the truth. How will that go?
This book covers a lot of important topics like mental health, eating disorders, and OCD. The topics are discussed thoroughly and are well explained. Alice Oseman has done an impeccable job by bringing such heavy topics into this beautiful story. Although this book has serious issues the tone remains simple. That makes this a great read. The journal entry of both, Nick and Charlie were illustrated beautifully. This book ended with a shocker making people impatient for the next volume. This series has become my absolute favorite.
