"I've learnt some things, like the way friendship can just be as intense, beautiful, and endless as romance."

What is important for you friendship or love?

Loveless by Alice Oseman traces the story of Georgia a hopeless romantic teenager, who in her life has never been in any relationship. Being an avid reader of romance she longs for love. When Georgia along with her best friends, Pip and Jason joins Durham university she hopes to finally find that someone special. Her life gets more tangled when Rooney completely opposite becomes her roommate. The four become fast friends due to their mutual interest in theatre. Rooney gives Georgia a hand in befriending new people and also finding a perfect match for her. But the quest of finding love creates havoc among her friends and puts her friendship with them in jeopardy. Georgia starts questioning why love seems so easy for others but not for her. Is she destined to remain Loveless?

This story covers the journey of Georgia's self-discovering her sexuality. When finding love seems like a task, terms like Aromantic and Asexual are thrown towards her. She gradually realizes her identity and starts to embrace it. Although the process takes away a lot from her especially her two best friends. The story of Georgia is heart-warming and inspiring in a way for many readers. The self-acceptance lesson stowed in the story is endorsed by the readers. The struggling life of Georgia, in many terms, relates to the readers. The friendship factor is the most beautiful part of the story. This book brings to light other queer communities that are still unknown to many.

The characters in the story are well-written. They all went through a difficult time, but they all saved one another in some way. Their stories make the book interesting. Pip and Jason were the cutest friends Georgia had. The way they supported her and stand by her side whenever needed gave away the true meaning of friendship. The love-hate relationship between Pip and Rooney added the curiosity factor in the book.

This book highlighted love and its importance in different ways. Also, platonic friendships are special and beautiful in their way. A whole new definition of friendship and its importance in our life is given through this book. The ending was satisfying. If you like Alice Oseamn’s work, then this is a must-read for you. If you haven't read any, then this is a perfect choice because she never disappoints.
