Suggest me some Mental Health books.

Life is what you make it is a story of Ankita, a teenage girl with ambitions who just got in college, living up her dreams, enjoying the freedom of life. Vaibhav, her old mate who has stolen her heart, writes her letters. She steps inside the college committee by winning the election. While handling the responsibility of college her path crosses with Abhi who falls heart over heels in love with her. The feeling she never imagined with Vaibhav she experiences that with Abhi. Time fly and college life come to an end while the career choices stand in front of Ankita. She decides to shift to Bombay for higher education. This leads to a string in her relationship since Abhi’s obsession takes control of his mind and losing Anikta to a different city leaves him to take a major step. A shock Anikta leaves her past behind and enters the new world but little did she knew what stands ahead of her. A tragic incident occurs in Anikat’s life when her mental health deteriorates and she takes a harsh step which leads her to the doors of an expert. Dr. Madhusudan becomes her mentor and guides her in the fight against Bipolar Disorder. Will Ankita be able to snap out and be normal again? That the part for you to read.

The book brings up the topic of mental health and elaborates the small changes, which a person goes through in great detail. From the high period till the depression face and then the ultimate decision, Anika suffers that all. Anika tries to snap out from the situation but fails that sympathize with my heart for her. The work of the writer is commendable, the way the pain that Ankita goes through has penned down brings shivers while reading. Even the suicidal part is emphasized, which would shock the readers.

However, the beginning of the book utters a steady tale that doesn't catch the reader’s attention. Though the book serves an important topic of mental disorder, its dull plot fails to have an impact on the readers. The tile justifies the story since "I am the master of my fate, the captain of my soul"

My Rating:- 4.8/5
